Race Rules
- There will be 3 races, each race will be of 4 minutes duration. The maximum number of boats in each race will be 5. If more than 5 boats are available to race the race will be split into 2 or more heats to achieve the maximum number of 5. A draw will be made before the commencement of racing to determine which boats go in which heat.
- One point will be awarded for each completed lap in each heat including fractions of a lap as indicated on each scoring board. The point at which each boat finishes to be marked on each score board. Missed buoys will have 0.2 of a lap deducted for each missed buoy: e.g. 1 miss = - 0.2, 2nd missed = - 0.4, 3rd missed = - 0.6 . This is meant to discourage deliberate shortcuts.
- The best 2 scores will then have their average calculated to give the score for the round.
- The final round of the season may a have change to the normal course and/or penalties and will have the point tally for that round doubled.
- Races will be run in an anticlockwise direction.
- Each competitor will have their best ten scores added together at the end of the season to give their final points tally.
